About me

My name is Henok Fissehaye. I am from Eritrea. I came in to the United States in May 2019. Before I came here I used to live in Ethiopia in a refugee camp with my mom and my sister. We lived there for 5 years then we came here to Des Moines, Iowa. My family lives in Des Moines and I live here on campus. I graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2023. Soccer is one of my favorite sports and I play soccer for Hawkeye Community College Men's soccer team as well. My favorite teams are Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Degree Information

I started studying Web Development, Programming Logic, and Databases in the fall of 2023. I am planning to graduate in 2025 with an Associate of Applied Science degree. I hope everything will go as I planned. My plan is to transfer to a Four year institution.

Favorite Projects

To be honest I like most of the projects that I did but my animal project is one of my favorite projects that I have done so far. The reason that I chose this as my favorite project is that I like the design that I did and I really liked the background color. Goals

Some of the goals that I have relating to this program are learning how to code as well as learning how to be a good developer. As I mentioned above I want to transfer to a 4 years college. I hope this program will help me and give me enough knowledge when I go transfer to a four-year college.
